Water Activities

BrumJam 2012 is pleased to announce that the water activity day ( part of the three day off-site programme ) is confirmed! We will be using the team at Bear Creek Adventure to run this day for us and it will take place at Edgbaston Watersports.

Edgbaston Watersports has offered water-based activities at Edgbaston Reservoir since the early 1980s. Early in 2007, Edgbaston Watersports was taken over by Martin and Jacqui Dutton and is now part of Bear Creek Adventure Ltd. The team here at Bear Creek Adventure Ltd have worked hard to modernise and expand Edgbaston Watersports and are pleased to be able to offer high quality water-based activities including sailing, windsurfing, raft building, canoeing, kayaking and powerboating. All safety equipment is provided by Edgbaston Watersports and is regularly checked to ensure a high standard of safety.

The reservoir is located on the western side of Birmingham city centre, and is therefore easily accessible from all areas within the city and the wider area and is not too far from our BrumJam site at Blackwell. The reservoir itself is a large expanse of water which was designed by Sir Thomas Telford to provide water for Birmingham’s canal system. Bear Creek Adventure Ltd is established as one of the leading private providers of outdoor education in the West Midlands. They offer a wide range of adventurous activities suitable for a range of abilities and age groups.

The Bear Creek team have excellent instructors and the facilities at Edgabston make this a superb addition to the off-site programme. BrumJam participants will be able to take part in at least two activities during the day from a range including canoeing, kayaking, rafting, sailing, wind surfing and rowing.

This is a great addition to the off-site programme.
